Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid face off on Tuesday in a UEFA Champions League Group F showdown at the Polish Army Stadium.

When these two teams last faced off last Wednesday, it was Real Madrid that were able to secure the 2-1 victory. Rodrygo scored the goal in the 13th minute and Vini Jr scored a goal in the 28th minute for Real Madrid. Oleksandr Zubkov scored a goal in the 39th minute to make it a game again, but it wasn’t enough in the 2-1 loss. Real Madrid had 60 percent of the possession and 14 shots on target, while Shakhtar finished with three shots on target and 40 percent of the possession.

Real Madrid comes into this game sitting 1st place in the standings having picked up nine points. On October 8th, Real Madrid face off against Getafe and that was a 1-0 victory. Eder Militao scored a goal in the 3rd minute, and the defense locked down after that on the way to the victory. Real Madrid had 66 percent of the possession and four shots on target. Militao is dealing with muscle spasms, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to go in this game. Thibaut Courtois is also dealing with a back problem, and it’s expected that he’s not going to be able to go in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Shakhtar Donetsk, who sits in second place in the standings having picked up four points. Shakhtar Donetsk was expected to face off against Lviv in the last game, but the game was postponed. With the layoff, it looks like it will be mostly the same crew that played in the last game that will get the start here. Viktor Kornienko is dealing with a knee injury, and he won’t be able to go in this game.

The last time these two teams played, there were three goals scored, and I expect much of the same here. I don’t trust this Shakhtar Donetsk defense, but they have a good offense and I expect they will score at least a goal here. This game is going to finish 2-1 or 2-2 and the over is going to cash.
