Napoli and Roma are clashing at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in round 33 of the Italian Serie A. Napoli have lost their last game, they have once again dropped to 3rd place. Roma is on a nice winning streak, they are playing well in Serie A, and they have qualified for the Conference League semifinals.
Napoli was on a nice winning streak, but that loss to Fiorentina last weekend has cost them a lot. With 66 points, Napoli is now in 3rd place in the standings, and they are now 4 points away from the top of the table, but the good news is they have a game in hand. Offensively, Napoli is solid, more than solid, and they have scored 58 goals so far this season. their defense on the other hand has started to slip up, and that is costing Napoli some precious points. Napoli has a decent schedule until the end of the season, and this is the only competition they are playing in which is the advantage over Inter and Milan. Osimhen is the leading goalscorer for Napoli with 12 goals, while Insigne has added 8 goals and 7 assists. This is a must-win game for Napoli, but it’s easier said than done at the moment for them.
It’s been a while since Roma lost their last Serie A game, and they are now in 5th place, but they are still in the hunt for that last Champions League spot. Last week, Roma has finally beaten Bodo/Glimt in the Conference League, and they have qualified for the semifinals. I think Roma has a pretty favorable schedule in Serie A for the rest of the season, but the matchup against Leicester in the Conference League could be draining for them. Abraham has been in excellent form lately, and he is the leading goalscorer for Roma with 15 goals, while Pellegrini has added 8 goals. Veretout has added 7 assists. It’s been a few days since their Conference League game, and I think Roma has gotten enough rest since then, but this will be a tough matchup for them, but they are certainly good enough to get a win here, or at least a point.
When playing at home, Napoli hasn’t lost to Roma in their last 3 games, but Roma is in good form right now. I think this could be an interesting game, but I just don’t see much separating these two teams. I’m going with the draw.
