Borussia Dortmund vs. Rangers 2/17/22 UEFA Europa League Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Borussia Dortmund and the Rangers face off on Thursday in Leg 1 of their Group of 16 showdown at Westfalenstadion. The last time these two teams faced off was in the 1999-2000 UEFA Cup.

Dortmund finished in 3rd place of Group C in the Champions League which means they didn’t advance, but they have transferred to the Europa League. Dortmund’s last game in the Champions League was against Besiktas, and they were able to score five goals in that game. Coming into this game they have won three games in a row, including the last game against Union Berlin. Marco Reus had a big game scoring two goals in the first 25 minutes, and never looked back as they cruised to the victory. During the Bundesliga season, Dortmund has scored 57 goals. Erling Haaland has been the top player scoring 16 goals and adding six assists.

On the other side of this matchup is Rangers FC who finished in second place in Group C of the Europa League picking up eight points. The last game in the Europa League came back on December 9th, and they played to a 1-1 draw against Lyon. The Rangers last game overall was against Annan Athletic, and the offense scored three goals in that game. All three goals in that game were scored in the first 32 minutes and in this game, they are going to need to get out to a fast start. In the Scottish Premiership, the Rangers have scored 55 goals total while their defense has given up 21 goals. 2021-2022 Rangers Stats, Scottish Premiership | FBref.com has been the top player scoring 11 goals and adding five assists.

Dortmund is an elite offensive team but the Rangers can also score, and even against this Dortmund team I think they find a way to get on the board. I expect both teams to get on the board, and this is too good of a price for both teams to score. Back both teams to score at -120.
