The Memphis Grizzlies and the Utah Jazz duke it out once again at the Vivint Arena on Saturday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their past six games and they will be looking to bounce back after having their three-game win streak halted by the Jazz in a 117-114 road loss last night. Ja Morant led the team with 32 points and 11 assists, Dillon Brooks added 22 points on nine of 16 shooting, Grayson Allen scored 17 points while Jonas Valanciunas chipped in with 14 points, 18 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they were slow coming out of the gates and quickly found themselves trailing by 21 points, before rallying in the fourth quarter to cut the margin to just three points with 34 seconds remaining.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been in great form as they’ve won six of their past eight games and they will be looking to build on their current four-game win streak after last night’s narrow win over the Grizzlies. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 35 points and six assists on 12 of 23 shooting, Rudy Gobert added 25 points with nine rebounds and two blocks while Bojan Bogdanovic chipped in with 17 points on eight of 15 shooting. As a team, the Jazz shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start to lead by 21 points, before holding on for the narrow win as the Grizzlies cut the margin to just three points late in the game.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a home record above .600 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Jazz are 15-2 ATS in their last 17 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 25-10 ATS in their last 35 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Utah and the Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Utah.
The Grizzlies will be kicking themselves as their poor start last night had them fighting an uphill battle all game, while the Jazz will be growing in confidence as they were able to extend their home win streak to 18 games with last night’s effort. The Jazz should be too good once again, but with the line so hefty, I’m taking the Grizzlies to keep this one to single digits.
