The New Orleans Pelicans travel to the Scotiabank Arena to take on the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. Here’s a Pelicans vs Raptors Prediction.
New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans have been in great form as they’ve won 10 of their last 14 games overall and they will be eager to keep it going after blowing past the Pacers in a 129-102 win on Friday. Brandon Ingram led the team with 34 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Trey Murphy drained six 3-pointers to add 28 points off the bench while Jonas Valanciunas chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot 55 percent from the field and 15 of 32 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with a 48-point explosion in the first quarter and never looked back.
Toronto Raptors
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last six games overall and they will be looking to maintain that momentum after outlasting the Hornets in a 111-106 win on Sunday. RJ Barrett led the team with 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Immanuel Quickley added 22 points with seven rebounds and 11 assists while Gary Trent Jr chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 46 percent from the field and 13 of 38 from the 3-point line as they kept the Hornets in check and built a 15-point lead in the third quarter which was just enough to hold off a late charge from the Hornets in the fourth.
Toronto Raptors Team Facts
- The Raptors have lost each of their last eight games against Western Conference opponents that held a winning record.
- The Raptors have failed to cover the spread in each of their last seven home games following a home win.
- Seven of the Raptors’ last eight home games against Southwest Division opponents have gone UNDER the total points line.
New Orleans Pelicans Team Facts
- The Pelicans have won each of their last eight road games against teams that held a losing record.
- The Pelicans have covered the spread in each of their last six games against Atlantic Division opponents.
- Eight of the Pelicans’ last nine road games have gone UNDER the total points line.
Pelicans vs Raptors Prediction
The Pelicans are coming into this one with a full squad, while the Raptors are still missing Bruce Brown, Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl. The Pelicans have been one of the form teams in the league, they have all their key players healthy and they just destroyed the Pacers in a dominant win on Friday. The Raptors haven’t been too bad themselves lately, but they are still missing some key players and it’s hard to get too excited about the win over the slumping Hornets. The Pelicans are obvious favorites in this one and I think they get it done with ease against this shorthanded Raptors outfit.
