The Washington Wizards and the New Orleans Pelicans collide at the Smoothie King Center on Wednesday night. Here’s a Wizards vs Pelicans Prediction.
Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 13 of their last 15 games overall and they will be hoping to put an end to a seven-game slide after getting beaten by the Mavericks in a 112-104 road loss on Monday. Deni Avdija led the team with 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Kyle Kuzma added 23 points while Tyus Jones chipped in with 14 points and 16 assists. As a team, the Wizards shot just 41 percent from the field and seven of 32 from the 3-point line as they poured in 36 points in the second quarter to build an 11-point lead, only to let their hard work go to waste in the fourth quarter where they got blown out by 34-16 in another disappointing finish. Bilal Coulibaly had a rough game of just four points on one of 10 shooting off the bench while Jordan Poole was even worse as he scored just three points on one of 12 shooting from the field.
New Orleans Pelicans
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been on a nice run as they’ve now won six of their past seven games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after beating the depleted Grizzlies in a 96-87 road win on Monday. Herbert Jones led the team with 17 points, nine rebounds and five steals, Brandon Ingram added 16 points with six assists while Zion Williamson chipped in with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot 41 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Grizzlies from the start, dominating their way to a 25-point lead, before they went ice-cold and scored just 10 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Grizzlies to make things interesting at the end.

- The Wizards have covered the spread in each of their last seven road games against Western Conference opponents that held a winning record.
- Each of the Wizards’ last six night games against Western Conference opponents have gone UNDER the total points line.
Wizards vs Pelicans Prediction
The Wizards are still a little shorthanded with Isaiah Livers still out, while the Pelicans are keeping eyes on Zion Williamson and Cody Zeller who are both listed as questionable. This is a classic case of two teams headed in opposite directions with the Wizards winning just two of their last 15 games, compared to the Pelicans who have won six of their last seven overall. It is tempting to take the Wizards who are getting plenty of free points here, but the Pelicans will be disappointed that they didn’t close out their last game definitively and I think they make that correction in this one. Give me the Pelicans to maintain their momentum with another big win and cover here.
