Minnesota Timberwolves vs Charlotte Hornets prediction 1-22-24 Picks

The Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves collide at the Target Center on Monday night. Here’s a Hornets vs Timberwolves Prediction.

Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 18 of their last 20 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up short to the 76ers in a 97-89 defeat on Saturday. Miles Bridges led the team with 25 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, Brandon Miller added 23 points with seven rebounds and three assists while Terry Rozier chipped in with 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Hornets shot just 41 percecnt from the field and nine of 37 from the 3-point line, but they played solid defense to hang in the contest until the fourth quarter where they managed just 16 points to allow the 76ers to escape in the end. The Hornets will meet the Pistons after this one.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in great form as they were riding a four-game win streak before they got stopped in their tracks by the Thunder in a 102-97 loss on Saturday. Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards scored 19 points each, Naz Reid added 18 points off the bench while Jaden McDaniels chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 41 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they dominated the third quarter to erase a 16-point deficit and lead by 12 points, only to get outscored by 28-14 in the fourth quarter in one of their more painful defeats of the season.

Hornets vs Timberwolves Prediction

This is a classic case of two teams headed in opposite directions as the Hornets have lost 18 of their last 20 games, while the Timberwolves reeled off four wins in a row before their last start loss to the Thunder. These two teams have already met once this season with the Timberwolves winning by 123-117 back on Dec 2. so while I expect the Timberwolves to win this one comfortably, I like the Hornets to hang around and get the backdoor cover in this one.
