The Golden State Warriors invade the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.

The Golden State Warriors have been in great form lately as they have won seven of their past 10 games and they will be hoping to build on their current three-game win streak after taking down the Hornets in a 130-121 home win on Friday. Stephen Curry led the team with 29 points and nine assists, Kelly Oubre Jr. added 27 points on 11 of 15 shooting, Andrew Wiggins scored 17 points while Draymond Green racked up a triple-double of 11 points with 12 rebounds and 19 assists. As a team, the Warriors shot a sizzling 60 percent from the field and 11 of 24 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 36 points in the first quarter, before pushing the lead out to as many as 19 points in the third quarter. The Warriors committed a total of 25 turnovers, but they tallied 38 assists while scoring 72 points in the paint.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in a bit of a rut lately as they’ve lost five of their last seven games, but they will be feeling much better after arresting a four-game slide with a 102-93 home win over the Trailblazers on Friday. LeBron James led the team with 28 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals, Dennis Schroder added 22 points while Montrezl Harrell chipped in with 17 points and nine rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 42 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and trailed at halftime, before taking control with their defense in the second half where they held the Trailblazers to just 36 points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 6-17 ATS in their last 23 Sunday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Lakers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.

The Warriors have been playing some of their best basketball of the season and they will be feeling pretty good after outlasting the improving Hornets in their last outing, while the Lakers were in a season-worst slump before stopping the rot with a much-needed win over the Suns on Friday. It’s tempting to take the Lakers at home with the line so short, but the Warriors are the team in better form right now and I think they can escape with the statement win here.
