Los Angeles Clippers vs Sacramento Kings NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/7/21
2021-02-07 15:00:00 EDT

The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Sacramento Kings at the Staples Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Sacramento Kings have been in great shape lately as they’ve won six of their past seven games and they will be gunning for a season-high fourth straight victory after last night’s 119-114 home win over the Nuggets. Harrison Barnes led the team with 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting, De’Aaron Fox added 24 points with five assists, Tyrese Haliburton scored 23 points while Richaun Holmes chipped in with 21 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Kings shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 35 from the 3-point line as they escaped on free throws despite allowing the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic to pour in a career-high 50 points. Four players scored at least 21 points to make up for horrible shooting night from Buddy Hield who finished with just five points on one of 11 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent form lately as they’ve won four of their last seven games, but they will be looking to bounce back here after falling just short to the shorthanded Celtics in a 119-115 home loss on Friday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 28 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Lou Williams added 18 points with six assists off the bench while Nicolas Batum chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 32 from the 3-point line as they dominated early and led by as many as 16 points. However, the Clippers couldn’t keep up the pace as they scored just 20 points in the third quarter before fizzling out late as the Celtics closed the final 46 seconds on an 8-3 run to steal the game late.

Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 4-0 ATS in their last four games, 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record. The Clippers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record.

Head to head, the over is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings in Los Angeles, the Kings are 2-10 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and the Kings are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings in Los Angeles.

Paul George sat out on Friday with right foot soreness and he is listed as questionable for Sunday while Patrick Beverley will likely miss his eighth straight game due to knee soreness, so the Clippers could be shorthanded once again. The Kings have come to life over their past seven games or so, but they weren’t able to get past a shorthanded Celtics in their last outing and I think we’re going to see a similar result here. I like the Clippers to get the win here, but I think the Kings stick around long enough to get the cover.
