The Los Angeles Clippers pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Saturday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in funk lately as they’ve lost six of their past eight games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling short to the Raptors in a 116-108 road loss last night. Marcus Morris led the team in scoring with 20 points, Terance Mann added 18 points with 11 rebounds while Reggie Jackson chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 34 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from an early 15-point deficit to lead by seven points in the third quarter, only to come up short as the Raptors exploded for 34 points in the fourth quarter to snatch the game from them.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in great shape as they’ve won six of their past eight games, but they will be aiming to bounce back after getting stopped by the 76ers in a 110-102 home win on Thursday. Kevin Durant led the team with 33 points on 13 of 24 shooting, James Harden tailed a triple-double of 33 points with 14 rebounds and 10 assists while LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Nets shot 45 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line as they kept went back and forth in a tight contest with the 76ers until late in the fourth quarter where the 76ers went on a decisive 11-3 run to snatch the game from them.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 0-6 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600. The Nets are 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on one days’ rest.
Head to head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings overall, the Clippers are 4-17 ATS in the last 21 meetings in Brooklyn and the Clippers are 7-19 ATS in the last 26 meetings overall.
The Clippers have really been struggling with injuries lately and they will again be without Brandon Boston Jr, Nicolas Batum and Ivica Zubuc, while the Nets are almost at full strength except for Kyrie Irving who has yet to rejoin the team. The Clippers have really struggled to stay competitive lately and they are only 0-6 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest. Give me the Nets to win this one by double-digits at home.
