The Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago White Sox meet Friday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. Baltimore is fresh off a series versus the Athletics. The Orioles won two of the first three games in that set, then on Thursday Baltimore eked out a one-run victory to take the series. As for Chicago, they played the Twins in their last series, losing two of the three games. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore took a 5-1 win over the A’s on Monday, then kept it up with a 15-8 Tuesday win. The O’s fell 8-4 in game three, however. On Thursday in the finale, Baltimore got a walk-off home run fro Adley Rutschman (the first of his career) to cap off an 8-7 victory.

For the starter job in the Friday matchup, the Orioles are sending out Tyler Wells. This year Wells is 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA in two games (one start). Over his career Wells has a 9-11 record with a 4.14 ERA in 69 games (24 starts).

Chicago White Sox

Over on the Chicago side, they took a 4-3 win over the Twins Monday, then fell 4-3 in game two. In the Wednesday rubber match the White Sox lost again 3-1. Starter Lucas Giolito ended up with 6.0 innings, one earned, five hits and two walks.

As starting pitcher for the Sox on Friday, it’ll be Mike Clevinger. Over two starts so far Clevinger is 2-0 with a 3.48 ERA and nine Ks in 10.1 innings. In his career Clevinger is 53-30 with a 3.39 ERA in 130 games (116 starts).

The Orioles are 10-1 in their last 11 Friday games and 20-7 in their last 27 in game one of a series. The under is 32-14-5 in Baltimore’s last 51 Friday games.

Meanwhile, the White Sox are 6-13 in their last 19 after an off day and 2-5 in their last seven overall. Chicago is 3-10 in their last 13 at home.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going with the White Sox. Clevinger had a bit of a shaky start in his last outing April 8 versus Pittsburgh, but he still got the win with 5.1 innings, four earned, eight hits and two walks. Clevinger should be able to keep Baltimore in check while he’s out there; that said, the Sox will need to get him some offensive support. Chicago has three or fewer runs in three of their last four games (four in the outlier). This should be a pretty good series overall and I think each team will get at least one win. I like the Sox a little better in the opener, though.

Andrew's Free Pick: Chicago White Sox -120
