The Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins meet Tuesday in MLB action from Target Field. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. In the Monday opener the White Sox eked out a one-run victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Chicago White Sox

The Sox took on the Pirates over the weekend, winning Saturday but falling in the other pair. On Monday versus Minnesota, Chicago out-hit the Twins 8-4 in a 4-3 victory. Starting pitcher Dylan Cease finished with 5.0 innings, one earned, three hits and two walks.

As starter for the Tuesday game it’ll be Lance Lynn. In his two starts so far Lynn is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA. He has 11 Ks in 10.0 innings total. Lynn is 123-85 in his career with a 3.55 ERA in 311 games (287 starts) total.

Minnesota Twins

Over on the Minnesota side, they won their first two games versus the Astros over the weekend but lost Sunday. In the Monday game the Twins gave up all four runs in the fourth inning. Kenta Maeda finished with 6.0 innings in the start, four earned, no walks and eight hits.

Pablo Lopez will make the start for the Twins on Tuesday. Over his first pair this year Lopez is 1-0 with a 0.73 ERA and 16 Ks in 12.1 innings. Lopez holds a career record of 29-31 with a 3.86 ERA in 96 starts.

The Sox are 2-5 in their last seven Tuesday games and 3-9 in their last 12 versus the AL Central. The over is 7-0-1 in Chicago’s last eight in game two of a series.

Meanwhile, the Twins are 13-5 in their last 18 at home versus a team with a losing record and 18-37 in their last 55 Tuesday games. The under is 16-7-1 in Minnesota’s last 24 versus a right-handed starter.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going with the Twins here. Lopez has a couple of good starts against the Marlins and Royals under his belt so far, posting just one earned run in 12.1 innings of work. Minnesota has struggled plating runs over the last several games however, so he’ll need some help from the bats in this one. On Monday the Twins had the one bad defensive inning and didn’t really get much offense going for most of a game they probably should have won. I like Minnesota to bounce back with a sharper effort in game two.

Andrew's Free Pick: Minnesota Twins -132
