Arizona Diamondbacks vs Colorado Rockies Prediction 3-31-24 Picks

The Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks meet Sunday in MLB action from Chase Field. Here’s a Rockies vs Diamondbacks prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. We will examine:

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Rockies didn’t fare too well in the first two games of this set. Colorado fell 16-1 in the Thursday opener and 7-3 in the Friday game two. On Saturday the Rockies found their footing in a 9-4 win. Austin Gomber gave up four earned on six hits and three walks in 4.2 innings during the start, and four different batters had multiple RBI.

In the starting pitcher role for Colorado on Sunday, it’ll be Ryan Feltner. Over his 10 starts last year Feltner notched a 2-4 record with a 5.82 ERA and 38 Ks in 43.1 innings total. Feltner is a career 6.06 ERA pitcher with a 6-14 overall record in 32 games (31 starts).

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

Over on the Diamondbacks’ side, they posted a whopping 18 team hits on Thursday and 14 more in the Friday game. Arizona got a pretty nice start out of Merrill Kelly in that second matchup (6.2 innings; one earned). In game three the Diamondbacks gave up five runs in the fifth inning alone. Tommy Henry had those five earned in 4.0 innings with six hits and two walks.

Brandon Pfaadt will take the mound for the starting role on Sunday. Over his 19 games (18 starts) in his rookie campaign last year, Pfaadt went 3-9 with a 5.72 ERA. He managed to strike out 94 batters in 96.0 total innings.

Rockies vs Diamondbacks Prediction

I’ll stay with the Diamondbacks. Arizona’s offense got off to a great start in the first two installments of this series, outscoring the Rockies by a combined 23-4. In the Saturday game three, the Diamondbacks had some bad outings from the first three pitchers. Really there was only one major breakdown inning in the field though, and the offense did a solid job of contributing overall. I like Arizona to bounce back here and take the series, especially if Pfaadt gets off to a good start. The Rockies play the Cubs in a 3-game series after this, and the Diamondbacks will play 3 games against the Yankees.
