The Tulane Green Wave and UCF Knights meet Saturday in week 11 AAC college football action from Yulman Stadium. UCF is fresh off a game versus Memphis. The Knights ended up bagging a seven-point win there. As for Tulane, they played Tulsa over the weekend. The Wave would go on to win by 14 points. Central Florida’s year began with a win over South Carolina State and a loss to Louisville. The Knights would then beat Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, SMU and Temple before another loss to East Carolina and a win over Cincinnati.
Matched up against Memphis, UCF took a 21-14 lead into halftime. The Knights were able to keep pace from there in a 35-28 victory. QB Mikey Keene put up 219 yards with three scores and an interception. RJ Harvey added 151 yards and a score on 17 carries.
Over on the Tulane side, they won their first three games versus UMass, Alcorn State and Kansas State before a loss to Southern Miss. The Wave then beat Houston, East Carolina, South Florida and Memphis in the next quartet.
Back on Saturday versus Tulsa, Tulane put up points in every quarter, eventually powering out a 27-13 victory. Quarterback Michael Pratt finished with 125 yards, two scores and an interception. Tyjae Spears led the rush with 157 yards and a touchdown on 14 totes.
The Knights are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 on turf. UCF is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Wave are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 overall. Tulane is 8-1 ATS in their last nine on turf.
PICK: I’m going to try Tulane here, but it’s basically a coin flip so I could probably go either way. This should be a fun matchup regardless. In any case, the Wave finished with 482 yards, 24 first downs and just one turnover in their win versus Tulsa last weekend. It was a nice defensive effort on the other side with 257 yards and 16 first downs allowed.
As for UCF, they came up with 427 total yards in a pretty solid effort versus Memphis. The Tigers are pretty close skill-wise with Tulane, so this should be a great matchup to check out.
