The Charlotte 49ers and Western Kentucky Hilltoppers square off Saturday in week 10 C-USA college football action from Jerry Richardson Stadium.

On defense, JaQues Evans has a team-high 78 total tackles including 50 solo tackles while also logging a team-high 5.5 sacks. Kahlef Hailassie and Derrick Smith each have 3 sacks apiece as well this season. Hailassie, Kaleb Oliver and Upton Stout also have a pair of interceptions each as well this season.
The Charlotte 49ers will look to build on their 56-23 road win over Rice last time out to climb to 2-7 on the year. Chris Reynolds has thrown for 1,799 yards, 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions on 64.8% passing while Shadrick Byrd leads the 49ers with 437 rushing yards and 4 TDs and ChaVon McEachern has 256 rushing yards as well this season. Western Kentucky is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 conference games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Charlotte is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 conference games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 home games.
I get the case to be made for a home underdog in spots and Western Kentucky looked awful against North Texas the week prior. However, Charlotte’s been worse at home all year, as they’re 0-4 SU/ATS, and have allowed 34 points in each of their four home games, including losses to FIU and FCS William & Mary. This won’t be another 73-point game like WKU had against FIU, but this one will be over by halftime. Give me the Hilltoppers in a rout.
