The Akron Zips meet the Bryant Bulldogs and Saturday in week 3 college football action at InfoCision Stadium. The Bryant Bulldogs look for a win to get a game above a .500 record. The Akron Zips need a win after losses to Auburn and Temple.

The Bryant Bulldogs have split their last six games overall. Zevi Eckhaus is completing 48.6 percent of his passes for 145 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Landon Ruggieri and Shai Young have combined for 75 receiving yards and one touchdown while Gary Cooper has four receptions. The Bryant Bulldogs ground game is averaging 180.5 yards per contest, and Fabrice Mukendi leads the way with 112 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Bryant is allowing 25.5 points and 345.5 yards per game. Joe Andreessen leads the Bryant Bulldogs with 17 tackles, Kenny Dyson Jr. has one sack and Lake Ellis has one interception.

The Akron Zips have won just three games since October of 2018. DJ Irons is completing 71.4 percent of his passes for 238 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Michael Mathison and Tony Grimes Jr. have combined for 209 receiving yards and one touchdown while Konata Mumpfield has six receptions. The Akron Zips ground game is averaging 96 yards per contest, and Jonzell Norrils leads the way with 88 yards on 27 carries. Defensively, Akron is allowing 52.5 points and 517.5 yards per game. The Bryant Bulldogs have been a subpar FCS team over the years and their sloppy quarterback play and shaky defense this season won’t help matters. The Akron Zips aren’t exactly world beaters, have won just three games in nearly three years and have a lookahead spot with Ohio State on deck next week. With all that said, we’re not being asked to lay much with Akron here at home. If Akron can’t win this game by two touchdowns, there’s some big issues that need fixing. Give me the Zips.
