Youngstown State vs Wisconsin-Green Bay Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/18/23

The Green Bay Phoenix and the Youngstown State Penguins meet Saturday in college basketball action from Beeghly Center. Green Bay is fresh off a Thursday game versus Robert Morris. The Phoenix went on to lose by 15 points. As for Youngstown State, they played Milwaukee in their Thursday game. In that one the Penguins took a blowout victory. Green Bay Phoenix

Green Bay managed to win just two of their first 24 games, December 5 versus IUPUI and December 10 versus UMKC. The Phoenix would then beat Milwaukee on February 6 before losses to Oakland and Detroit. 

On Thursday versus Robert Morris, the Phoenix held strong in the first half on a 30-29 deficit. Green Bay was outscored 41-27 from there however and lost 71-56. Clarence Cummings put up 12 points with five rebounds to lead the way. 

Youngstown State Penguins 

Over on the Youngstown State side, they managed a solid 15-5 run over their first 20 games this year. The Penguins went 5-2 over the next seven beating Oakland, Detroit, Wright State, Northern Kentucky and Fort Wayne during that stretch. 

Matched up against Milwaukee on Thursday, the Penguins posted a 46-33 edge by halftime. Youngstown State hit a 41-25 run from there and won 87-58. Adrian Nelson led the team with 19 points and Malek Green put up 12 points with 10 rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll stick with Youngstown State in this one. The line’s probably too thick to mess with, though. The Penguins are coming off a nice performance against a pretty good Milwaukee team in their last outing, and they’ve now won six of the last seven games. These teams last met up back on January 19 in an 86-70 Youngstown State win at Resch Center. The Penguins had a five-point halftime lead in that one and broke away in the second half. I don’t think this rematch will be as close if Youngstown State plays to their capabilities.
