George Washington has managed wins over VA State, Howard, MD Eastern Shore, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Coppin State this year. The losses have otherwise been to Hofstra, UCSD, Radford and American.
Matched up against Coppin State on Tuesday, the Colonials held a slim 34-32 lead by the break. George Washington posted a 49-39 advantage in the second half and won 83-71. James Bishop led the team on 30 points in 38 minutes.
Over on the Washington State side, their wins have been versus Texas State, Eastern Washington, Detroit and Northern Kentucky. The losses have come against Boise State, Prairie View, Oregon, Utah, UNLV and Baylor.
In the Baylor game on Sunday, the Cougars were down 31-25 at halftime. Washington State kept the pace from there but still lost 65-59. Jabe Mullins led the team in 16 points, and TJ Bamba put up 14 points with three rebounds.
PICK: I’ll probably take a stab on Washington State in this one. It should be a good matchup, though. The Colonials have a couple of rough losses to Radford and American lately, but otherwise they haven’t played too badly during this 3-2 stretch. George Washington has 75 or more points in each of the three victories and will probably put up a good total here as well. As for Washington State, they’re just 1-3 over the last four games but haven’t lost by more than six points in any of those—including the Baylor game. I think the Cougars can get in on a cover here.
