The Stony Brook Seawolves will look to build on back-to-back wins after an 85-74 win over Maine last time out. Anthony Roberts leads the Seawolves in scoring with 15.8 PPG with 4.2 RPG while Jahlil Jenkins has 13.5 PPG with a team-high 2.9 APG to lead Stony Brook in the assist department. Tykei Greene also has 12 PPG with a team-high 7.6 RPG to lead the Seawolves on the boards and to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Stony Brook so far this season. The UMBC Retrievers will hope to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 68-62 loss to New Hampshire last time out. Keondre Kennedy has 14.5 PPG with 5 RPG while Darnell Rogers has 10.9 PPG with a team-high 3.6 APG to lead the Retrievers in assists and. L.J. Owens has 10.8 PPG with 2.9 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for UMBC this season. Yaw Obeng-Mensah has 7.6 PPG and a team-high 5.6 RPG to lead the Retrievers on the glass. As a team, UMBC is averaging 71.9 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field, 35.5% from three and 77.7% from the foul line while allowing 69.9 PPG on 44.8% shooting from the field and 34.8% from three this season.

I get the case to be made for Stony Brook here, but the problem I have with the Seawolves is that they’ve had issues with consistency as of late. UMBC has had back-to-back losses, but they do a lot of their best work at home this season and only laying a bucket means if you back the Seawolves, you’re backing Stony Brook to win outright and I don’t see it.
