The Samford Bulldogs and the UCF Knights meet in college basketball action from the Addition Financial Arena on Sunday.
The Samford Bulldogs will try to snap a three-game losing streak after a 104-98 OT loss to Depaul in their last game. Ques Glover leads Samford in scoring with 13.8 PPG while Jermaine Marshall has 11.8 PPG with a team-high 5.9 RPG to lead the Bulldogs on the glass. Logan Dye has 11.3 PPG with 5.8 RPG and Jaden Campbell has 11.1 PPG. Bubba Parham has 10 PPG with 5.1 RPG and a team-high 2.7 APG to lead Samford in assists and to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Samford so far this season. As a team, Samford is averaging 86.2 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 73.4% from the foul line this season.
The UCF Knights will look to bounce back after a 66-64 defeat at the hands of Miami last time out. Taylor Hendricks leads the Knights in scoring and rebounding with 14.7 PPG and 7.3 RPG while Darius Johnson has 13 PPG and 2.5 APG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for UCF so far this season. Jayhlon Young also has a team-high 3.4 APG and Ithiel Horton has 9.9 PPG with 3.9 RPG up to this point in the season for UCF. As a team, UCF is averaging 7o PPG on 42.7% shooting from the field, 35.2% from three and 73.3% from the foul line this season.
Samford is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the under is 10-3-1 in their last 14 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. UCF is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall.
I’ll give Samford some credit here as they’ve battled their entire schedule hard up to this point and this game should be no different. The problem is that UCF prides itself on playing solid defense and they usually do their best work at home. That being said, I like the under here as I think UCF will be able to keep Samford’s offense in check but I don’t think that UCF’s going to light it up either. I could see a 66-60 kind of game here, so give me the under.
