UC Davis vs UC San Diego Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/20/23

The UC San Diego Tritons and the UC Davis Aggies meet Monday in college basketball action from the Pavilion. UC San Diego is fresh off a Saturday game against Cal State Northridge. In that one the Tritons powered out a 13-point victory. As for UC Davis, they played UC Irvine in their Saturday matchup. The Aggies ended up losing by two points. UC San Diego Tritons 

UC San Diego posted a rough 6-12 run over their first 18 outings this year. The Tritons hit a 2-6 stretch in their next eight, losing to Long Beach State, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, CSU Bakersfield, Hawaii and CSU Fullerton in that time. 

On Saturday versus CSU Northridge, the Tritons took a 34-31 edge into the second half. UC San Diego kept it up with 41 more second-half points and won 75-62. Atin Wright was the leading scorer on 17 points and five assists. 

UC Davis Aggies 

Over on the UC Davis side, they managed to go 11-7 over their first 18 games of the season. The Aggies went 4-4 over the next eight with wins over Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield, Hawaii and CSU Northridge alongside losses to UC Riverside (twice), LBSU and UCSB. 

Matched up against UC Irvine on Saturday, UC Davis came back from a 39-31 halftime deficit to make things interesting but still ended up losing 78-76. Elijah Pepper was the leading team scorer on 32 points and six rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with UC Davis in this one. The Aggies are just 1-3 in their last four games and in need of a good showing. The last time these teams met up back on January 16, UC Davis powered out a 78-70 road win at LionTree Arena. The Aggies have been scoring pretty well lately with 65 or more points in 11 straight games. So long as they can get off to a good start, I don’t think UC Davis will have too much trouble pulling off the cover performance.
