Southeastern Louisiana vs Incarnate Word Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/2/23

The Incarnate Word Cardinals and the Southeastern Louisiana Lions meet Thursday in college basketball action from University Center. Incarnate Word is 10-12 so far this year. The Cardinals beat Nicholls State in their last game. As for Southeastern LA, they’re 13-9 on the season after a win over New Orleans. Incarnate Word Cardinals 

Incarnate Word was only able to beat TX Lutheran, Our Lady of the Lake, Dartmouth, Grambling State, DCC and Bethune-Cookman in their first 16 games. The Cardinals are 5-2 in their last seven outings with losses to New Orleans and Southeastern LA. 

On Saturday versus Nicholls State, the Cardinals were down 36-31 going into the second half. Incarnate Word posted a 38-31 edge from there for a comeback win 69-67. Trey Miller and Jonathan Cisse were tops on the team with 16 points. 

Southeastern Louisiana Lions

Over on the SE Louisiana side, they lost to Colorado State, Kennesaw State, App State, Xavier, Dayton, Nicholls State, Troy and Vanderbilt in their first 16 outings. The Lions are 5-1 in their last six games though, with a lone loss to Northwestern State. 

Matched up against New Orleans on Saturday, the Lions went into the break with a 44-31 lead. Southeastern LA managed a 36-33 run from there and won it 80-64. Nick Caldwell was the leading team scorer on 21 points and eight rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m going to stick with Southeastern Louisiana. This should be a pretty good matchup regardless, though. The Lions are 7-1 in their last eight, scoring 71 or more points in each one of those games. The last time these teams met up back on January 14, Southeastern Louisiana secured a 75-71 victory thanks to a 38-30 first half. I like Incarnate Word to come along for the ride in this one, but ultimately I think the Lions cover here.
