Monmouth vs North Carolina A&T Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/13/23

The North Carolina A&T Aggies and the Monmouth Hawks meet Monday in college basketball action from Multipurpose Activity Center. North Carolina A&T stands at 12-15 so far this year. The Aggies lost to Stony Brook in their Saturday matchup. As for Monmouth, they’re currently 5-21 after a loss to Hofstra in their last game. North Carolina A&T Aggies 

North Carolina A&T had an up-and-down start to the year, going 9-11 over their first 20 games. Since then the Aggies are 3-4 with losses to Towson, Monmouth, UNC Wilmington and Stony Brook during that stretch. 

On Saturday versus Stony Brook, North Carolina A&T took a 34-31 deficit into the break. The Aggies didn’t end up getting any closer on 28 second-half points and lost 69-59. Kam Woods put up 18 points with seven rebounds in the defeat. 

Monmouth Hawks 

Over on the Monmouth side, they were able to win just one of their first 21 games (December 4 versus Manhattan). The Hawks are 4-1 in their last five however, beating NC A&T, Delaware, Drexel and Stony Brook. 

On Saturday versus Hofstra, the Hawks were drilled 37-16 in the first half. Monmouth was outscored 49-41 in the second and lost 86-57. Andrew Ball was the top team scorer on 11 points and Klemen Vuga added 10 points.

I’ll take a stab on Monmouth here. The Hawks had an abysmal start to the season but they’re looking better over their last five games. The last time these teams met up was back on January 28 in a 79-64 Monmouth win at Corbett Sports Center. The Hawks managed a strong second half in that one with 42 points. NC A&T has been pretty listless over this 1-3 stretch, and they’ve scored 66 or fewer points in all four of those outings. Monmouth should have a good opportunity at a cover (or even a win) in this rematch.
