The Lindenwood Lions and the Missouri Tigers meet in college basketball action from the Mizzou Arena on Sunday.
The Lindenwood Lions will look to build on their 85-58 win over subdivision Hannibal Lagrange last time out. Kevin Caldwell Jr. led the way with 20 points on 6 of 14 shooting with 4 threes and a team-high 7 assists while Brandon Trimble added 16 points on 5 of 10 shooting with 3 threes and 4 steals. Chris Childs added 14 points on 5 of 13 shooting with 4 threes and 6 rebounds while David Ware added 10 points with a team-high 10 rebounds and 5 assists to cap off the group of double-digit scorer for the Lions with a double-double.
The Missouri Tigers will try to build on back-to-back wins after a 92-85 win over Penn in their last game. Noah Carter led the way with 28 points on 8 of 15 shooting with 6 threes and a team-high 8 rebounds along with 3 assists and a pair of steals while D’Moi Hodge added 17 points on 5 of 12 shooting with 3 threes and 3 steals as well. Nick Honor added 16 points on 4 of 8 shooting with 3 triples with 4 assists and 3 steals while Tre Gomillion added 11 points with a team-high 5 assists and 3 steals to cap off the scoring in double digits for Missouri in the win.
Missouri is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games against a team with a losing road record and 4-13 ATS in their last 17 games following a win while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall.
I get the case to be made for an underdog in some spots, especially when the favorite hasn’t covered in either of their first two games. However, Missouri’s the far better team here and Lindenwood didn’t put up much of a fight against Dayton in their debut. I think Missouri will come out to put on a show and show that they’re better than what we’ve seen so far, which hasn’t been bad offensively. It’s the defense that’s been the issue, but look for Lindenwood to struggle here and for Missouri to put up their first good defensive showing of the year.
