The Georgia Bulldogs and the LSU Tigers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Georgia is fresh off a loss to Auburn that dropped the Bulldogs to 15-12 so far. As for LSU, they’re 14-13 so far following a loss to Mississippi State over the weekend. Let’s get into our Georgia vs LSU prediction. Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs started out the year on a pretty solid 14-5 run with losses to only Oregon, Miami, Providence, Tennessee and Kentucky. Georgia would lose to Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Florida and Auburn during a 1-7 run in the next eight outings.

In their latest loss to Auburn on Saturday, the Bulldogs faced a 45-34 deficit going into the second half. Georgia didn’t get any closer on a 52-42 run the rest of the way and lost 97-76. Noah Thomasson led the team with his 18 points, two rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes of work.

LSU Tigers

Over on the LSU side, they had a reasonable run through their first 17 games at 11-6 overall. The Tigers have struggled on a 3-7 stretch since then, falling to Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Alabama again, Florida and Mississippi State with wins over Arkansas, South Carolina and Kentucky otherwise.

Matched up against Mississippi State on Saturday, the Tigers were facing a 40-33 hole by the break. LSU put up a 47-34 deficit the rest of the way in an eventual loss 87-67. Trae Hannibal was the team’s top scorer in the losing effort with 22 points, six rebounds and two assists.

ANDREW’S FREE GEORGIA VS LSU PREDICTION

I’ll stick with LSU. This one’s a little tricky with both teams struggling right now, though. The Tigers didn’t play all that well against a pretty good Mississippi State team in their last outing, shooting just 41.4 percent from the field and 17.6 percent (3-of-17) from outside with 15 turnovers. LSU has been below 68 points in two of the last three games and could really use a shot in the arm on the scoreboard.

As for Georgia, they were able to power out a 68-66 home win the last time these teams met up back on January 24. The Bulldogs held the Tigers to just 38.6 percent shooting during a sloppy game (34 combined turnovers), so this rematch could get messy as well. I like LSU to get a little revenge at home, though.

Andrew's Free Pick: LSU Tigers -3
