The Ohio Bobcats and the Kent State Golden Flashes meet Thursday in college basketball action from Quicken Loans Arena.

Coming into this MAC Tournament matchup, Ohio sits at 13-7 so far. The Bobcats are coming off a loss to Buffalo in their last game. As for the Flashes, they’re 15-7 this season. Kent State is 1-2 in their last three and coming off a loss to Buffalo. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Ohio started off on a sketchy run over their first 13 games, going 7-6 in that time. The Bobcats then won six straight games over Ball State, Western Michigan, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Akron and Eastern Michigan before the loss to Buffalo on February 27.

In the 86-66 loss to the Bulls, Ohio’s top scorer was Ben Roderick with 15 points and four rebounds. Both Jason Preston and Lunden McDay put up 10 points apiece, combining for six assists and seven rebounds.

Over on the Kent State side, they’ve done a pretty good job at staying consistent this year, and have only lost consecutive games once. The Flashes are 1-2 in their last three games however, falling to Ball State and Buffalo in that time.

In the 81-67 loss to Buffalo, Kent State’s Tervell Beck put up 19 points with two rebounds, and Malique Jacobs had 16 points with six rebounds and four assists. Giovanni Santiago added 13 points with seven assists and four rebounds as well.

Kent State is 0-4-1 ATS in their last five neutral-site games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight Thursday games. The Flashes are 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 4-1 in their last five Thursday games.

Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 neutral-site games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Thursday games. Ohio is 20-8 ATS in their last 28 overall and the over is 4-1 in their last five Thursday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Kent State. This should be a pretty good matchup, though. The last time these teams met up, the Flashes took an 89-79 win on  January 16. The Bobcats have only been able to play three games since February 2, and there’s a good chance they’ll come out rusty initially. Kent State has a good opportunity to jump out quick in this game.
