Florida Gulf Coast vs UMKC 11/23/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The UMKC Kangaroos and the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Germain Arena. UMKC is 3-4 overall this year. The Kangaroos took out Indiana State in their Tuesday game. As for Florida Gulf Coast, they’re currently 4-2 after a win over Drexel on Tuesday. UMKC lost their first three matchups of the year. Those defeats came courtesy of Lincoln MO, LSU and Illinois. The Roos managed a win over Calvary 113-54, then lost to Kansas State. In Monday’s matchup, UMKC posted an 83-71 win over Toledo. 

In the Tuesday game versus Indiana State, UMKC trailed 30-28 at halftime. The Kangaroos managed a 35-31 run from there and won 63-61. Shemarri Allen led the team on 22 points with six rebounds. RayQuawndis Mitchell managed 18 points as well. 

Over on the Florida Gulf Coast side, they kicked off their 2022-23 season with a win over USC and a loss to San Diego. The Eagles then beat Ave Maria and lost to Tennessee. Game five was another victory, this time 82-61 over Northern Kentucky. 

On Tuesday versus Drexel, Florida Gulf Coast held a slim 31-29 lead by halftime. The Eagles scored 36 more points from there in a 67-59 win. Isaiah Thompson was the top scorer on the team with 27 points and four rebounds. 

PICK: I might take a stab on UMKC here. The Roos are coming off a gutsy comeback win over Indiana State, and they’ve been playing pretty well lately. UMKC didn’t shoot particularly well in the Tuesday game, but made up for it on the boards with a 36-30 advantage (12-9 offensive). If the Kangaroos can get some shots falling early I think they’ll be in good shape for this one. 

As for Florida Gulf Coast, they managed a nice outing on Tuesday as well. The Eagles shot 45.9 percent form the floor and had 39 rebounds. This should be a great matchup if both teams are on point.
