Bowling Green went just 3-5 over their first eight games, beating Air Force, Oakland and Morgan State in that time. The Falcons are 3-2 since then with wins over Hampton, Fairmont State and OH Dominican.
In the OH Dominican game last Thursday, the Falcons took a five-point lead into the second half. Bowling Green hit a 60-28 run from there and won 102-65. Leon Ayers led the way on 30 points, and Kaden Metheny added 20 points.
Over on the Eastern Michigan side, they were 2-6 after eight games, beating only Wayne State (MI) and FIU. The Eagles are 1-4 since then with losses to Florida Atlantic, Illinois State, Niagara and South Carolina.
Matched up against South Carolina on Friday, Eastern Michigan was down by 10 points at halftime. The Eagles kept the pace from there but still lost 74-64. Emoni Bates led the team on 36 points with six rebounds.
PICK: I’ll probably go with Bowling Green here. Probably also staying away. There’s not a lot to get excited about here. That said, Bowling Green has managed 66 or more points in seven straight outings so they should score pretty well in this one; it’ll be a good game. The Falcons haven’t exactly faced major competition over their last pair, however they should match up well in this one. As for EMU, they’ve got some pretty nice scoring outings over their last six games so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a high total on Tuesday.
