On Thursday versus Stony Brook, the Hawks were down 38-26 going into the second half. Monmouth scored 30 more points from there but it wasn’t enough in a 67-56 loss. Andrew Ball led the team on 13 points with nine rebounds.
Over on the Drexel side, they were 5-5 after 10 games this year, beating Old Dominion, Arcadia, TX-Arlington, Lafayette and La Salle. The Dragons went 3-1 in the next quartet with a lone loss to Seton Hall in that span.
On Thursday versus Towson, Drexel trailed 30-24 going into the second. The Dragons managed to keep the pace from there in a 64-58 defeat. Mate Okros was tops on 14 points with four rebounds.
PICK: I’ll probably stay with Drexel here I suppose. Granted, there’s not a lot to get excited about in this matchup but it very well could become a competitive affair. Drexel hasn’t been a great scoring team this year; they’ve hit more than 66 points just once in the last nine outings. Monmouth hasn’t done any better. The Hawks have been at 56 points or below in four straight games. This is probably Drexel’s cover to take if they get off to a good start, but it’s also probably not worth messing with if you’re not a fan of either team.
