The North Alabama Lions and the Colorado Buffaloes meet Thursday in college basketball action from Coors Events Center. North Alabama comes into this one at 6-4 overall. The Lions beat Alabama State in their last game. As for Colorado, they’re 5-5 this year and coming off a win over Colorado State. North Alabama won four of their first five games this year over Oakwood, Alabama A&M, Blue Mountain and Hampton. The Lions hit a losing streak to UCSB, Georgia Tech and Memphis before wins over Morehead State and Alabama State.

Last Wednesday versus Alabama State, North Alabama was up 36-27 by halftime. The Lions kept the pace in the second half during a 71-63 win. Damian Forrest led the team on 20 points with 11 rebounds and two assists.

Over on the Colorado side, they alternated wins with losses over their first eight games this year. The victories in that stretch came over UC Riverside, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Yale. Since then it’s been a loss to Washington and a win over Colorado State.

The Buffaloes were up 38-30 going into the second half during last Thursday’s matchup with Colorado State. Colorado scored 55 more points in the second half and rolled to a 93-65 win. Tops in scoring was KJ Simpson with 27 points.

PICK: I’ll stay with Colorado in this one. Realistically the line is probably too thick to play around with, though. The Buffaloes have put together some great games (and some no-so-great games) so far this year. Colorado is coming off a nice effort versus Colorado State, shooting 56.7 percent from the field with 42 rebounds. The Buffaloes have scored 65 or fewer points in four of their last five games however, so they’ll need to get the scoring going quickly if they’re going to cover. North Alabama has hit 68 or more points in three straight games but probably won’t have such an easy time here.
