Cincinnati vs Temple Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/22/23

The Temple Owls and the Cincinnati Bearcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Fifth Third Arena. Temple comes into this one at 15-13 so far. The Owls beat Tulsa in their Sunday matchup. As for Cincinnati, they’re 18-10 on the season and coming off a win over UCF. Temple Owls 

Temple had mixed results over their first 20 games, going 11-9 overall to start the year. The Owls are 4-4 since then with wins over Houston, South Florida, UCF and Tulsa alongside losses to Houston, SMU, Memphis and Wichita State. 

In the Tulsa game on Sunday, the Owls went into the break with a 37-30 edge. Temple hit a 39-23 run in the second half and won it 76-53 in blowout fashion. Damian Dunn was the lead team scorer on 24 points and three rebounds. 

Cincinnati Bearcats

Over on the Cincinnati side, they managed a 14-6 stretch in their first 20 games of the season. The Bearcats are currently on a 4-4 stretch as well with wins over Tulsa, UCF (twice) and South Florida alongside losses to Memphis, Houston, Tulane and East Carolina. 

On Sunday in the UCF rematch, the Bearcats went into the second half with a 33-30 edge. Cincinnati was outscored 41-40 from there but still won 73-71. Landers Nolley was the top scorer on 18 points, and David DeJulius added 16 points. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with Cincinnati here. We should have a fairly good matchup regardless, though. The Bearcats played well in their last outing against a pretty decent UCF team, shooting 54.7 percent from the floor with a 31-24 rebounding advantage. Cincinnati has an element of revenge in play for this one as well; the last time these teams met on New Year’s Day, Temple powered out a 70-61 victory at Liacouras Center. Cincinnati is 3-0 in their last trio at home and I like them to keep it going here with a cover/win.
