Charleston Southern Buccaneers
Charleston Southern went just 7-11 over their first 18 games of the season. The Buccaneers have gone 1-6 in their last seven with losses to Campbell, Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, High Point USC Upstate and Radford during that time.
On Saturday versus Radford, the Buccaneers took a 45-33 deficit into the break. Charleston Southern didn’t get any closer with a 45-38 second half and lost 90-71. Tyeree Bryan was the leading scorer with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Campbell Camels
Over on the Camels’ side, they started out the year on a rough 7-11 run themselves. Campbell has gotten better on a 4-4 run since then. The victories during that stretch were versus Charleston Southern, High Point, USC Upstate and High Point again.
Back on Saturday in the Gardner-Webb game, the Camels came back from a 31-20 halftime deficit to force two overtime periods. When the dust settled Campbell ended up losing 77-73, though. Ricky Clemons led the team on 18 points and four assists.

I’ll probably stick with Campbell in this one. Granted, there’s not a lot to get excited about here but it should still be a solid matchup. Campbell is coming off a tough overtime loss to a pretty decent Gardner-Webb team, and they’ve scored 72 or more points in five of the last seven outings. These teams last met up back on January 21 at CSU Field House. That one ended up as an overtime win 78-76 for Campbell. The Camels should be more comfortable at home and I like Campbell to power out a win/cover here.
