Toledo Rockets
Toledo was 9-5 after 14 games this year, falling to UMKC, East Carolina, George Mason, Marshall and Ball State. The Rockets are 3-1 since then, beating Western Michigan, Northern Illinois and Ohio along the way.
In the Ohio matchup on Tuesday, the Rockets jumped out to a 52-31 halftime lead. Toledo was outscored 44-38 in the second half but hung on for the win 90-75. RayJ Dennis was tops on the team with 25 points and nine rebounds.

Over on the Buffalo side, they won seven of their first 14 over Colgate, George Mason, Canisius, St. Bonaventure, St. John Fisher, SUNY Canton and Ohio. Buffalo is 2-2 since then with wins over Northern Illinois and Bowling Green.
Matched up against the Falcons on Tuesday, Buffalo was up 48-33 going into the second half. The Bulls kept the pressure on with 52 more points and won the game 100-71. Yazid Powell doubled up on 27 points and 10 rebounds.
ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’m probably staying with Toledo here. I could go either way on this one, though; it should be a good matchup. In any case, Toledo’s offense is smoking right now; the Rockets have hit 83 or more points in seven of the last eight games. Toledo has gone a tepid 5-3 in that stretch however, as they’re giving up a decent amount of points to comparable teams. Buffalo has 75 or more points in five straight games so they’ll be an interesting opponent for Thursday’s matchup. I like this one to be high-scoring and competitive as Toledo powers out the cover.
