The Hartford Hawks will travel to the Events Center (Binghamton) to take on the Binghamton Bearcats this Monday night in College Basketball action.

The Hartford Hawks dropped to 3-11 on the season after being defeated by the Vermont Catamounts, 82-72, this past Saturday. Hartford found back from a 45-28 halftime deficit to take a 63-61 lead with just 6:31 left in regulation, however, the Hawks struggled on both ends of the court down the stretch and Vermont was able to pull away after taking a 77-70 lead with 1:15 left in regulation. Hartford shot 50.9% from the field & 34.8% from beyond the arc while allowing Vermont to shoot 52.8% from the field & 42.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Hawks was Austin Williams who had 24 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, & 2 blocks.

On the season, Hartford is averaging 68.9 ppg on 46.2% shooting from the field. The Hawks are averaging 8.6 three-pointers per game on 34.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Hartford has been led by Austin Williams (16.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.3 apg), Moses Flowers (13.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.2 spg), Hunter Marks (12.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.3 apg), & Traci Carter (9.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.8 spg).

Defensively, Hartford is allowing their opponents to an average of 74.9 ppg on 45.8% shooting from the field. The Hawks have a rebound margin of -1.7 and a turnover margin of -3.0.

The Binghamton Bearcats improved to 7-8 on the season after defeating the NJIT Highlanders, 68-57, this past Saturday. Binghamton trailed by a 33-29 margin at halftime, however, the Bearcats were outstanding on both ends of the court in the 2nd half and was able to pull away late in the 2nd half after taking a 62-54 lead with 2:52 left in regulation. Binghamton shot 47.1% from the field & 21.1% from beyond the arc while allowing NJIT to shoot 42.9% from the field & 22.7% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bearcats was Jacob Falko who had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assits, 1 block, & 3 steals.

Offensively, Binghamton has been led by Jacob Falko (12.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.0 spg), Tyler Bertram (10.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.2 apg), John McGriff (10.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.9 apg), & Kellen Amos (8.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.1 apg).

The Hawks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record & 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS win. The Bearcats are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, however, are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Hartford is led by their offense which although it hasn’t put many points on the board, comes into this game ranked 89th in FG% & 81st in three-pointers made per game, however, the Hawks have struggled on the defensive end and currently rank just 303rd in scoring defense & 313th in defensive FG%. Binghamton has been nothing more than average on both ends of the court this season and come into this matchup ranked t-193rd in scoring offense, 151st in scoring defense, & 171st in defensive FG%.

Hartford has struggled this season, however, the Hawks has played better as of late with a quality win over New Hampshire while giving Vermont all they could handle on their home court. Binghamton has won 4 of their last 6 games, however, this is a team that is just 3-4 at home this season and can struggle forcing turnovers. Hartford is the better team that is playing the better basketball as of late and as I think they win this one by 5-7 points, I’m taking the Hawks to cover this small spread.
