Binghamton vs Albany 2/16/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Albany Great Danes and the Binghamton Bearcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Binghamton University Events Center. Albany is 10-15 so far this year. The Danes lost to Vermont in their last game. As for Binghamton, they’re sitting at 10-12 and coming off a loss to New Hampshire. Albany hit a 4-10 start to the season over their first 14 games. The Danes would then win five of their next six games to flirt with .500 again. Since then it’s been a 1-4 stretch with losses to Vermont, UMBC, Maine and Vermont again.

In the Vermont rematch back on Saturday, the Danes were outscored 28-38 in the first half and 35-38 in the second in an eventual 76-63 loss. Justin Neely managed 26 points, and Jamel Horton added 14 points with five assists.

Over on the Binghamton side, they hit a 3-6 run at the beginning of the season. The Bearcats played just three games between December 11 and January 16, though. Since then it’s been a 5-5 run. Binghamton has lost to Vermont and New Hampshire in the last pair.

In the Saturday matchup versus New Hampshire, the Bearcats posted 30 points in each half on the way to a 69-60 loss. Jacob Falko topped the team with his 13 points, and John McGriff managed 11 points with five rebounds and five assists.

The Bearcats are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 at home and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games. Binghamton is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS loss.

Meanwhile, the Danes are 8-0 ATS in their last eight road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games. Albany is 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m going to try Binghamton in this one. The Bearcats have had a couple of tricky matchups lately but for the most part they’re still doing well against comparable opponents. The Bearcats have hit 68 or more points in each of their wins so far this year, one of them being an 88-79 road win over Albany on January 6. I like another strong effort from Binghamton in this one as the team rolls to a high-total cover.
