The Harvard Crimson will play the Cornell Big Red in an Ivy League game on Friday night at Newman Arena in Ithaca, New York. Harvard has alternated wins and losses over their last six games, while Cornell has won seven of their last eight games. Let’s take a look at the betting matchup and the Harvard vs Cornell prediction.

Harvard Preview

The Harvard Crimson are 12-8 (3-4) this year after they defeated Dartmouth by a score of 77-59 in their last game. Harvard led 41-28 at the half and they scored 36 points in the second half to pull away with the win. The Crimson shot 50% from the field and made 10 three pointers in the game. Harvard lost to Cornell by a score of 89-76 in the game prior to Dartmouth, but did beat Columbia before that. The Crimson are scoring 71.7 points per game with 34.9 rebounds per game and 13 assists per game, while giving up 71.2 points against per game this year. Malik Mack is averaging 18.7 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, and 4.7 assists per game. Harvard is shooting 45.4% from the field, 68.7% on free throws, and 34.4% on three pointers this season.

Cornell Preview

The Cornell Big Red are 17-4 (6-1) this season after they lost to Yale by a score of 80-78 in their last game. Cornell led 46-38 at halftime, but they were out scored 42-32 in the second half for the loss. The Big Red shot 54.5% from the field and they made 10 three pointers, but they were out rebounded 41-20 in the game. Cornell had won their previous seven games, scoring 80+ points in five of them. The Big Red are scoring 83.7 points per game with 35.2 rebounds per game and 18.2 assists per game, while allowing 74.6 points against per game this season. Chris Manon is averaging 12.2 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, and 3.3 assists per game. Cornell is shooting 50.2% from the field, 72.2% on free throws, and 34.9% on three pointers this year.

Harvard vs Cornell Betting Prediction

These two teams played just a couple of weeks ago, with Cornell winning by a score of 89-76 at Harvard. The Big Red have been great in league play so far this season, but they did suffer their first loss in their last game. Harvard has struggled this year and they have lost by double digits against Cornell, Yale, and Princeton. Cornell is shooting over 50% from the field, which is one of the best in the country, and they are scoring over 83 points per game. Cornell is the much better team in this matchup and I just don’t think Harvard is good enough to hang around. Take the Big Red on the road.
