In their Saturday game versus Nicholls State, the Cardinals were up by two points going into the second half. Lamar hit a 45-28 run from there and took the eventual victory 75-56. Jakevion Buckley was the lead scorer on 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds off the bench.
Incarnate Word Cardinals
Over on the Incarnate Word side, they were only able to beat Schreiner, AR-Pine Bluff, Jacksonville State, UIC and Our Lady of the Lake in their first 18 games. The Cardinals are 2-3 since then with losses to Texas A&M-Commerce, SE Louisiana and Houston Christian.

The last time these teams met up back on January 8, Lamar secured a home win 75-59 thanks to 19 points off 18 Incarnate Word turnovers.
