Austin Peay vs Western Kentucky 11/30/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and the Austin Peay Governors meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Dunn Center. Western Kentucky is 6-1 overall this year and coming off a win versus South Carolina State. As for Austin Peay, they’re 3-4 so far. The Governors lost to Howard in their last game. Western Kentucky won their first three games over Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky State and Ulndy before taking a 72-53 loss to Akron. The Hilltoppers bounced back with wins over Illinois State and Tulane in the next pair. 

In game seven versus South Carolina State, the Hilltoppers bagged another win. Western Kentucky scored 47 points in the first half and cruised to a 90-64 blowout. Tops in scoring was Luke Frampton with 18 points, and Dayvion McKnight doubled with 14 points and 10 assists. 

Over on the Austin Peay side, they lost their first two games this year to NC State and Purdue. The Governors hit a win streak over Milligan, South Florida and Albany before another loss to Bucknell. 

Austin Peay played Howard in their last matchup on Saturday. The Governors had a 29-24 halftime lead but lost it in the second during a 56-55 defeat. Sean Durugordon led the team on 21 points with eight rebounds. 

PICK: I’m probably sticking with the Hilltoppers. Western Kentucky put on a show versus an overmatched South Carolina State team in their last outing. The Hilltoppers shot 50 percent from the field with 50 rebounds and 22 team assists in the blowout victory. Western Kentucky has been scoring well lately with 71 or more points in three straight. 

As for Austin Peay, they’ve been at 65 or fewer points in three of their last four games and gave away a win over Howard in their last appearance. I don’t think the Governors will keep up if WKU gets going.
